Not everyone becomes a Shellback. And not every coffee earns a place in the Reserve.
The Shellback Reserve is built around premium Kenya AA beans sourced from the Gititu Farmers Cooperative in Kiambu County — one of the most respected growing regions on the continent. Kenya AA is the top grade, hand-sorted for size and density, and it shows in the cup.
Expect a bright, wine-like acidity with bold notes of blackcurrant and ripe citrus, layered over a smooth, full body and a clean, lingering finish. It's complex without being fussy — the kind of cup that makes you slow down and pay attention.
Origin: Kenya | Region: Kiambu County | Elevation: 1,680 meters | Process: Fully Washed, Raised Beds | Harvest: May–August | Grade: Kenya AA
How to brew it right: Pour-over is the move. Grind medium-fine, brew at 200°F, and let it bloom for 30 seconds before the full pour. The bright acidity and blackcurrant character need a clean, controlled brew to show everything they've got — auto-drip works, but pour-over is where this one earns its grade.
