In the mountains above Barillas, Guatemala, 180 women farmers are growing some of the most honest coffee you'll ever drink.

This is their lot — Café de Mujeres, sourced through ASOBAGRI, a cooperative spanning 80 communities in one of Guatemala's most rugged and remote growing regions. These aren't large-scale operations. They're small family farms, worked by hand, certified organic, and built on decades of knowledge passed down through generations of women who know this land better than anyone.

The coffee they produce is exactly what you'd expect from that kind of care: a medium-dark roast with real depth and a clean, confident finish. Vibrant acidity opens the cup — brighter than you'd expect from a dark roast — followed by rich notes of dark chocolate and toasted almonds, with a subtle stone fruit sweetness that lingers in the finish. Full-bodied, smooth, and strong enough to stand on its own.

No added flavors. No shortcuts. Just a cup that tastes like the work that went into it.

Origin: Barillas, Huehuetenango, Guatemala | Cooperative: ASOBAGRI — Café de Mujeres (Las Dueñas Café) | Elevation: 1,400–1,650 meters | Process: Fully washed, patio dried | Harvest: February–May | Roast: Medium-dark

Certified Fair Trade Organic. No added flavors.

Best brewed: Pour-over brings out the vibrant acidity and chocolate depth — grind medium-fine and let it bloom for 30 seconds. French press works beautifully for a fuller body. Strong enough to hold up black; complex enough to reward the attention.

Fresh-roasted & drop-shipped by our trusted U.S. roasting partner to ensure peak freshness. Packaging may vary.
