Why We Added Tea to Southern Grounds Coffee Co.

If you know Southern Grounds Coffee Co., you probably already know that coffee is a pretty big part of our story.

But there’s another drink that has been part of my story for as long as I can remember: tea.

And honestly, adding tea to Southern Grounds just felt right.

It Started With My Grandmother

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time around my grandparents. Coffee was always around, but my grandmother had a particular love for tea.

She was from England, and she always fancied a spot of tea. Whenever we came over, there was a good chance she already had tea ready. It was just one of those little things that became part of growing up around her.

Looking back, I don’t think I fully appreciated what those moments meant at the time. It wasn’t really about the tea itself. It was about sitting down. It was about visiting. It was about family.

It was about having something warm in your hands while you took a few minutes to slow down and enjoy the people around you.

Those are the kinds of memories that stick with you.
