Why Fresh Roasted Coffee Tastes Better Than Grocery Store Coffee

One of the questions I get asked the most is, "Is fresh roasted coffee really worth it?"

My answer is always the same.

Absolutely.

The biggest difference is simple.

When you order fresh roasted coffee, it's roasted to order and shipped straight to your door. It hasn't been sitting in a warehouse or on a grocery store shelf for months before you ever brew your first cup.

I like to compare it to produce.

You wouldn't walk into the grocery store looking for fruits and vegetables that have been sitting around for months if you had the choice to buy them fresh.

So why would you want coffee that's stale?

Coffee is no different.

The fresher it is, the better chance you have of tasting it the way it was meant to taste.

Fresh roasted coffee has a richer aroma, more flavor, and a smoother finish than coffee that's spent months sitting on a shelf. As time passes after roasting, coffee gradually loses many of the qualities that make it special. It doesn't suddenly become bad, but it isn't as vibrant or flavorful as it was when it was fresh.

One thing I've learned over the years is that a lot of people think they don't like black coffee.
